A guesthouse done right.

The word hotel no longer means anything. It has been worn out over twenty years of sad buffets, carpeted corridors, receptionists reading the same script and breakfasts called a "gourmet experience" that are four factory croissants.

We have fourteen rooms in Alicante. We have no lobby. We have no buffet. We have no staff at the desk at four in the morning because at four in the morning there is nobody who needs to come in.

We have a bed. We have a window. We have a bathroom that was rebuilt in 2025 with a tiled walk-in shower and towels that have some weight to them. We have fibre wifi, air that really cools, a safe for the laptop and the big rucksack. We have a digital doorbell, a woman who cleans well every morning and a WhatsApp that replies in under five minutes at any hour.

And we have Alicante all around. We have a neighbourhood that breakfasts at the bar and dines in the street. We have the market, the castle, the beach and the Explanada —all a stroll or a tram ride away. We have arroz (rice), vermouth, tapas, sunsets.

We call this a guesthouse

For a very simple reason: that is what it is. A guesthouse is a place where someone rents you a good room in a city worth visiting. No disguises. No "concept", no "lifestyle", no "experience". A bed, a key, a city.

When we call this a hotel we lose the word. And we want it back. There are places that are real hotels: the Palace, the Negresco, the Ritz. Places where the building matters, where the ground floor is the plan. That is not us. We are the good bed at Calle Doctor Sapena 83.

Less hotel, more trip

There is no breakfast because around here breakfast happens at the bar, with someone else's newspaper, at neighbourhood prices. If we served it ourselves, it would cost three times as much and taste like hotel.

There is no spa because the sea is right there and the sun hits the sand for free. There is no bar because the neighbourhood already has its own —better ones. There are no lobby sofas because you do not come to sit on a sofa, you come to go out.

What we do not include is not what we lack. It is what we respect: a city that knows how to feed you, give you a drink and take you for a walk without our help.

The best hotel in Alicante isn't the most expensive one. It's the one that leaves you budget for Alicante.

That is roughly how the price works. No tricks at check-out. No surprise "final cleaning". No hotel tax dressed up as VAT. What you see when you book is what you pay when you leave.
